I’ve heard people say that if you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear satanic messages, but that’s nothing, if you play it forwards it installs Windows!!!

Beware of Programmers with Screwdrivers!!

Software development seems to be an ongoing competition between developers working to build bigger and better idiot-proof applications, and the Universe creating bigger and better idiots… So far the Universe is winning!

Dropped again

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Yesterday Gas dropped again to the low, low price of $2.43$2.41 $2.39!!!!

In other news, I’ve taken on a Freelance PHP Developer job.  No I haven’t left CHCC, this is something I can do in my spare time (HA!) in the comfort of my own LazyBoy.  I just started this week, and haven’t completed my first poject yet, but from what I’ve seen so far, I think it’s going to be something I’ll enjoy… plus I’ll make a little extra cash.  Of course if gas keeps dropping, I may not need the extra cash.

Gas Prices

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

I’ve decided to try to post something on here, whether I have anything to say or not so that I’ll get back in the habit.  So…

How much is gas where you live?  Prices around here have been dropping like flies.  It sometimes drops 4 times a day at $0.03 or $0.02 each time.  So I’ve seen it drop over $0.10 in a day, several times over the past couple of weeks.  So how much is gas in Joplin right now?

$2.49

I love Algebra!

Monday, October 13th, 2008

I know, it’s been awhile.  I’m not making any promises here about frequency of posting.  But here I am.

What have I been doing?

Well, we’ve recently moved 85% of the offices at work.  That meant lots of rewiring on my part.  We’ve moved our printers around and changed the way clients connect to them in order to better control printer usage.  We also purchased some new printers and a new copier to better serve everybody.

We’re using Asterisk.  We’ve got 9 people, including myself, using Asterisk at the moment.  We have had a few bugs, but they’ve ALL been on the part of our older Samsung Prostar DCS.  Some of the ports on the Samsung system that are used to connect to the Asterisk system aren’t real reliable.  There’s also been a few bad cables I’ve had to replace, or use a different pair on causing issues with the phones.  Except for these issues though, it’s all gone well and I’ve been pretty happy with it all.

RIght now in school I’m taking Problem Solving through Computer Programming, and College Algebra.  I know this makes me sound like a Geek, but I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.  I love Algebra!

Well, that’s all for now.  I’ll try to start posting more, then maybe I can get some decent content as well besides , “I love Algebra!”
