IT Ministry

It has been awesome to see so many people talk about IT Ministry. IT as a ministry has been a dream of mine for 6 years. And since the beginning my dream has been to see IT professionals from churches all over to join forces and work together. Now I’m in Houston with a group of 80+ people from churches all over the country who live, eat, breathe IT Ministry!!!

Last week I met with Jim Walton from http://www.churchtechmatters.com. It is incredible to meet with people who share the same dreams and visions as I do, even though I had never met him before last week. Jim doesn’t work for a church, but he is involved in Church IT as a volunteer in several churches. He’s planning an event similar to the Geek Day of Service in a couple of churches in our area. I’m hoping we can get G4J involved. I think that’s the new direction I would like to see G4J go. We need to get outside the walls of CHCC. If I can get some of our other volunteers hooked on this I really want to begin focusing on networking with all the other churches and para-church organizations in Joplin.
