Sick kids and parents

We’ve got three sick kids at home. All three with fevers, and two of them have been throwing up. Last night when we went to bed, the baby woke up crying and she had almost 103 fever. After about an hour and a half we got her to bed. An hour later one of my sons woke up throwing up. My wife’s been holding down the fort pretty good, but my oldest son keeps calling me asking me when I’ll be home from work. Poor kids. I’ll probably leave early today so I can help out.

My Dad has Bells Palsy. Woke up with it Sunday morning, and found out what it was Monday when he went to the Dr. It worried us for a little while. For those who don’t know Bells Palsy causes one side of your face to paralyze. So when he woke up with half his face paralyzed Mom thought he might have had a mini-stroke. Thankfully it’s only a temporary condition and nothing serious. But until we found out we were all a bit worried. It brought back some painful memories for my sister. And a few for me as well.

I think it was ’91 when Dad was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gherrig’s disease) and given 2 years to live. It started with his face, that’s why this all brought back bad memories. Praise God though that Dad was healed. The doctors claim he never had ALS, it was a mis-diagnosis that they maintained for over a decade and only changed their minds when he got better. Anyway, he’s better now, serving the Lord in MS, and it turned out to be nothing serious.
