Snort
So last night I was talking with Adam and he told me he had been trying to hack into my network. I checked the logs and sure enough there were some failed login attempts. So today I installed snort on our router. Snort is an intrusion detection system (IDS). It should give me some more info in case he, or someone else, tries anything else.
I’m also thinking I might try some penetration testing myself. Adam made some incorrect assumptions about the OS’s I’m using. I happen to know exactly what OS’s I’m using, so I have an advantage. If I find a vulnerability in my network, I’ll fix it, then let you know.
